MANHATTEN

Manhatten is the most famous Brough of New York City. In this collection you will finde pictures from many different areas who shows the diversity of this mega city. I took pictures in Little Italy as well as on Broadway or the

Fnancial District as well as in Harlem, but also in not so busy neighborhoods like the West Village.

But we start with the Heart of the World - Times Square and the Theater District.

THEATER DISTRICT

TRIBECA

Tribeca and Soho are trendy Neighborhoods in Lower Manhattan. The former industrial district Tribeca still has a rough character a great location to take pictures from historic buildings. It is also famous for the Tribeca Filmfestival from Robert DeNiro.

LITTLE ITALY

LITTLE ITALY

Once lived here more than 40,000 Italians. Little Italy is the legendary Italian neighborhood in Lower Manhattan. Many famous mafia films were filmed here, for example: The Godfather with Al Pachino.

SOHO

GREENWICH VILLAGE

The Greenwich Village is an artist and scene district with many cafes, bars and restaurants. Often it is simply called Village. In addition, the village is a popular living area. Stars like Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly or Dustin Hoffman are living here.

CENTRAL PARK

The Central Park is the green lung of the city. And belongs to the largest city parks in the world.

MEATPACKING DISTRICT

The Meatpacking District is a former industrial and red light district. In the last few years, it became a trend and nightlife district. Many clubs, bars and new boutiques are located here. But the area has retain its rough character.

HARLEM

Also a rough character has Harlem in Uptown. Harlem was considered as a ghetto and no go area until a few years ago. It is the center of African-American culture. Many famous black musicians began their career at the legendary Apollo Theater in 125th Street. For example Louis Armstrong, James Brown or the Jackson 5. Today you can visit Harlem during the day without any worries.
